Kodiak Island is famous for its wild caught Alaska salmon. Pristine lakes and rivers surround the entire Island supporting strong runs of all five salmon species. Island Seafoods has our own fleet of fishermen who deliver their catch directly to our processing facility or to one of our Salmon Tenders. Once at Island Seafoods, the salmon are filleted, vacuum sealed and flash frozen to capture the flavor.
On Kodiak Island, fall is marked by shorter days, a slight chill in the air, and the return of wild Coho Salmon. Also known as Silver Salmon for a shiny
color at sea, Coho Salmon have peach colored flesh, a delicate taste and firm texture.
Sold by the fillet, each whole Coho fillet weighs 1 to 2 lb on average.
High in heart-healthy Omega-3 fatty acid, wild caught Coho Salmon are an excellent choice for your next barbecue or family feast. You will have no trouble getting the kids to clean their plate when Coho Salmon is on the menu! Grilled, sautéed, or poached, the Coho shines best with a quality rub or light sauce.
Frozen Seafood: Orders for frozen seafood will ship frozen in an insulated box with gel ice packs, overnight from Kodiak using FedEx “Standard Overnight”
delivery. Your order should arrive frozen, but partial thawing is possible and natural. Simply place in the freezer.
Delivery: Orders must be placed Thursday before 5 p.m. for Saturday delivery. Saturday deliveries are an additional $35. For Hawaii add $35.
